Steven Finn said: We have chance to win the series

Steven Finn insists that England still think they can claim a staged comeback victory in their ODI series with India.

The tourists have lost the first two contests of the series and must clean the remaining three games if they are to come out on top next to the World Cup winners.

Despite their supremacy over India in all forms of the game at home this summer, England have been soundly crushed in both the opening contest and will be underdog another time in the third ODI in Mohali on Thursday.

Much has been made of England's failure to become accustomed to the different circumstances on the sub-continent, but Finn firmly believes that his side can revive the winning touch.

"India has probably had the better of the circumstances on both occasion," the 22-year-old said.

"We can't blame out loss on that, but they've almost certainly had the better of the conditions. I don't think there is too much dissimilarity (from the summer), to be honest, it's the same teams playing next to each other.

"They've clearly had more experience to these conditions in the past. But that's something we learn in every training session that we train in, every game that we play and every over that we face or bowl and we're only going to get better all through this series."

Even though they must win three successive matches to turn the series around, Finn says the whole of the squad are still aim for overall victory.

The seamier added: "We've got nothing to lose now - we're playing next to the world champions in their own conditions, we have nothing to misplace whatsoever.

"In these next three games we're going to go away nothing in the dressing room - not that no matter which has been left in the dressing room so far - and we're really look forward to these next three games.

"We have full faith that we can win these three games."

Finn hope to make tough contribution

Lanky pacer Steven Finn and left-arm spinner Samit Patel are sure that they will make significant aid to help England win the ODI series.

"It is an thrilling opportunity for us to play in India and I hope that I can add for my team in order to win this series," the right-arm fast bowler Finn said during an open session ahead of the first ODI against India on October 14.

Finn, who is predictable to be in Alastair Cook's scheme of things in the nonappearance of premier bowlers Stuart Broad and James Anderson, wants to make full use of the opportunity provided.

For Patel, who was a part of the squad that was blanked 0-5 in 2008, feels that winning the series will be a "massive attainment" for the side.

Medium pacer, Chris Woakes, said,"I am very thrilled about the series. It is a great chance not just for me but for England to try and beat India in their own country, although we know it is going to be tough."

Steven Finn get Trent Bridge call

Steven Finn has been call up to England's squad for the second npower Test against India, starting Friday.

The 22-year-old Middlesex player joins the squad due to misgivings over Chris Tremlett's fitness.

Tremlett experienced his hamstring "niggle" for a second time during England's net session on Thursday afternoon; although Captain Andrew Strauss appears hopeful the Surrey man will figure at Trent Bridge.

Strauss said: "We are very sure he should be fine.

"But like all these things, because there is such a short rotate between the two Test matches, we've almost got to wait until Friday morning before we're 100% sure one way or another.

"We'll only choose him if we're 100% he'll get through the game."

Finn, who took 5-33 in a CB40 clash with Derbyshire on Thursday, will compete with Yorkshire all-rounder Tim Bresnan for a place in the XI should Tremlett miss out.
