Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni said he had the certainty that his team might win the IPL play-off match next to Royal Challengers Bangalore.
"It was a hard target, but we have been in comparable situations, and we have the conviction that we can win these games. We kept believe that we could do it, but you can say I was not 100% certain," Dhoni said after his side's dramatic six-wicket win in the last over.
"We know as a team we have the armaments to chase anything. This was a good situation where the set batsmen kept back on going, and the others chip around him. When you believe in the aptitude that you have, you can more often pass off," he said.
Rival captain Daniel Vettori believed that Suresh Raina's sweltering knock made the difference. "You do get these guys. You say this is a great game of cricket. That innings from Suresh took it away. But we expect to bowl a little bit improved than we did."
